Greenbluff and Halloween 2011

We headed up to Green bluff this year on the last weekend of the apple festival.  My sister Bev and nephew Kade came with us.  We were a little worried about the weather, but our concerns were proven wrong.  The weather was gorgeous!  It was sunny and warm and just perfect.  There were very few crowds and we just had a great time.  We went and did the giant corn maze, did the kiddie "rides" and ate pumpkin donuts and hot apple cider.  It was a great day!  I of coarse didn't take pictures.  I'm so lame when it comes to that.

After Green bluff we came home and got ready for the harvest party at the church.  It was a carnival for the kids.  We all dressed up and headed out for a fun evening at the church.  The kids had a great time.  The kids Halloween costumes are pretty cute this year.  Cordin is a Ninja, Gabbie a honey bee, Gideon a cowboy, and Brynwen is little red riding hood.  I will definitely get pictures of them in there costumes and post them.  It was a really nice family weekend.

I didn't get Gabbie and Cordin in their costumes but I did get Gabbie in her face paint, we did a butterfly.

Alone Time

After 12 years of marriage Joe and I took a weekend off.  That's right, I said 12 years.  All I can say is why didn't we do this before?!  For Joe's birthday I arranged a weekend getaway for the two of us.  I was going to try to surprise Joe with it by kidnapping him from work with some lame, "I'm taking you to a birthday lunch" and then not going back, but his work and school schedule are so crazy right now I had to make sure he could get the time off on the Friday we went.  Thankfully it worked out.

It was so much fun to be somewhere, with my husband, alone.  We actually talked and laughed and had a really good time together.  We went to some really nice restaurants and had good food and conversation.  We spent Saturday in Seattle at the Space and Science Museum.  We went up to the top of the space needle and walked around one of the other exhibits.  It was such a good day.  I had a really nice time and even though I missed the kids, it was worth it!  I would definitely do it again sooner rather then later.  A weekend away was just what I needed, just what we needed.  We were able to reconnect and grow closer together as a couple.  I would highly recommend getting away to anyone that asks.  We are so much better after our weekend together.
