Today's the Day!

Today is the day! I've decided that today is the day that I am going to start changing my life. It is time to get rid of all of the weight that I have gained over the past 10 years, emotional as well as physical. I know that it won't be easy, but that's o.k. It's going to be a hard struggle to shed these unwanted pounds, but I know that I can do it. I have decided to start walking everyday. I also have a bow flex that I will work out on 3-4 times a week. I am cutting sugar out of my diet and I am going to eat healthy. I know, I know, there will be times that I will fall and make wrong choices. I will not let this deter me though. I will get back on program and continue until I reach my goal. I want to be healthy for my kids. I want to be around for my children. I want to have the energy to run and play with them. I want to grow old with Joseph. I want to see my children grow up and get married and have families of their own. I want to be healthy and strong. I want to do this for me.

I am hoping that I can count on all of you out there for your love and support. I am going to be posting every Saturday what I have done each week. I will be keeping a food journal that I have to share as well as the exercise program that I follow each week. I need to be accountable to someone and I figured that this is as good a place as any. I am also hoping that I might get some advice from you all out there. What are your favorite exercises to do? What kinds of things do you like to eat that are good for you? Do you have any favorite recipes? Any and all help is welcome. So, here I go. I will keep you all updated as things happen.

Good for you! I've decided to 'run' the Happy Hoofers Fun Run in July. I've never been a big runner before, but I'm anxious to try it. I fell off the wagon last week with the nasty cold weather and all, but I'm starting again tomorrow. The important part really is to endure to the end!

WooT! I'm expecting to see great things when I come visit in July!

I'm no expert on weight loss because it's not something I ever thought I'd have to worry about. I'd always eaten just what I wanted for my whole life. Well, by the time I hit 40, I realised I was getting a belly.

So this year I stopped buying junk food. (I still eat some if it's around, but I don't BUY it.) I still eat plenty of food so I don't feel hungry, but I'll have some fruit for a morning snack, and I cook more than I used to. I also started cycling to work, half an hour each way. I probably do that two or three days a week. So far I'm down to 92 kilos, and Ms Perfect likes the abs.

I guess the most important thing is that you start incorporating things that you wouldn't mind doing every day. Diets and hardcore exercise won't help if they're too strenuous and you have to give them up. I think that before you can change your body, you have to change your habits.

Well, congratulations, and I'm holding you to the Saturday updates!

I'm there with you. We need to partner up and keep each other motivated. I was so motivated in February and did so well until I got back from the Bahamas. Now, I'm stuck in a rut!! Don't know if you want a gym membership, but I would be happy to go with you at nights or mornings!! (They also have daycare services during the days if you want to use that service, and if you sign up and say I told you, I get $25.00 WP dollars (which I could give to you to use for babysitting, which runs 2 or 3 bucks an hour).
